Assessed Valuation
Property taxes are levied on all privately owned real property regardless of use, and are based on the assessed valuation of the property and the City's mill levy. The tax is assessed by multiplying the assessed valuation by the mill levy rate.
Assessed valuation is established by the Arapahoe County Assessor. For more information on how property is assessed by the County or to look up your property's assessed value, visit the Arapahoe County Assessor's Property tax webpage.
Mill Levy Rates
Mill levy rates are established by the City and expressed in terms of 1/10 of one cent. The mathematical representation of Cherry Hills Village's total mill levy rate of 14.722 mills is 0.0014722.
Additional mill levies are assessed for various special districts, including, but not limited to, school districts, water and sanitation districts, fire protection, and library services. The City's portion of your overall property tax assessment makes up only a portion of the total assessment.
Tax Collection
The City's property tax is collected by the Arapahoe County Assessor.
