Burglary Crime Alert - December 2008
Important Information From The Cherry Hills Village Police Department
The Cherry Hills Village Police Department has investigated three residential burglaries in the northeast area of the city during the last weeks of November 2008. In each case, monetary items such as cash and credit cards have been removed from the interior of each residence. The unknown suspect has entered each residence through an unlocked door and removed items while the residents were inside the home. In one instance, the suspect removed items from several upstairs rooms while the residents were downstairs in the kitchen area. It appears as though the suspect is traveling on foot through the neighborhoods and may be parking a vehicle outside of the area.
The police department is requesting extra vigilance during this time as the suspect appears to be seeking crimes of opportunity. Please lock all doors and windows and do not leave any items of value in plain view. This is especially important as the holiday season is upon us and everyone is short on time. Please take an extra few minutes to ensure that your home is secure and that gifts are stored in a safe location.
Please contact the police department immediately if you observe any suspicious activity or individuals in your neighborhood. If you observe an individual on your property or inside your residence, do not confront the individual. Move to a safe location and call 911 for immediate police assistance. If you observe a suspicious vehicle in the area, please try to obtain a license plate number to assist with future investigation.
