Chief of Police - John Patterson
Chief Patterson came to the Cherry Hills Village Police Department in 2004 from the Silverthorne Police Department where he was their police chief for 5 years. Prior to Silverthorne, Chief Patterson worked for the Lakewood Police Department for 23 years - he was the 52nd Lakewood officer to become a police chief.
At Lakewood, Chief Patterson received eighteen Directors Commendations and the Meritorious Service Medal for saving a life.
Chief Patterson has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's Degree in History. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and he is a past president of the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police.
The Chief is an advocate for diversity and change within the policing profession.
