Fun and Safe on the 4th of July

Cherry Hills Village, CO - July 4th is just around the corner and the Cherry Hills Village Police Department wishes everyone a safe and fun holiday. We also want to remind residents about our local fireworks regulations.

The Cherry Hills Village Municipal Code prohibits most fireworks within the Village. Fireworks are devices designed to produce a visible or audible effect when lit or burned. If it sparkles, explodes or booms - it's likely illegal. Please remember:
  • Any fireworks that explode or leave the ground are not permitted.
  •  Permissible fireworks include cone fountains, ground spinners, and snakes.

We are especially concerned with the safety of the children in our community. Children are at higher risk for injury around fireworks because they are excited and curious about fireworks. Many of the injuries sustained while handling fireworks are to the hands, eyes, and feet. Did you know that sparklers burn at a temperature of over 1,000 degrees? This presents the risk of personal injury and a fire danger. We recommend leaving fireworks to the professionals and encourage attendance at one of the many professional celebrations throughout the Denver metro area

Stay safe as you celebrate Independence Day!

Residents may report illegal fireworks use by calling the

Arapahoe County Dispatch non-emergency number at 303-795-4711.
