On July 12, 2010 at approximately 5:10 p.m, officers were dispatched to a First degree criminal trespass in the 4000 block of S. Colorado Blvd. Officers observed a vehicle with the vehicles drivers’ side window smashed and broken glass was both inside and outside the vehicle. There was no other damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was parked between 4:10 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. A purse was stolen from the vehicle. A credit card from the purse had been used immediately after the theft.
Residents are urged to leave purses, IPod’s, laptops and all other valuables at home when visiting local parks and trails. Theft from a vehicle is a crime of opportunity – don’t be the next victim. If you must bring valuables with you, place them in the trunk before you get to your destination.
