On Feb. 22, 2010 at approximately 8:48 a.m., officers responded to a theft report in the 4500 block of S. University Blvd. (St. Mary’s Academy). The victim reported a small amount of cash had been stolen from an office some time between Feb. 19-22, 2010.

On Feb. 22, 2010 at approximately 2:26 p.m., officers took a report of a theft which occurred in the 1000 block of E. Stanford Ave. The homeowner stated jewelry was stolen from the house sometime after January 31, 2010.

On February 24, 2010 at 10:45 a.m., officers took a report of a criminal impersonation that occurred in 2007. The victim reported his name and contact information had used by an unknown person during a traffic stop. A summons was issued in his name and the fines were never paid. The victim contacted the court clerk after receiving a letter regarding non-payment of the fines. Officers were able to verify that the victim could not have been in Cherry Hills Village at the time the summons was issued.

On Feb. 25, 2010 at approximately 3:38 p.m., officers took an Identity theft report. The victim reported that an unknown person had used his social security number to obtain a credit card. He obtained a copy of his credit report and found a collection account listed on the report. The account was opened out of state. He is working with the credit reporting agency to remove the information from his credit report.
Residents are strongly urged to check their credit reports on a regular basis. Colorado residents may obtain a free copy of their credit report annually. You may request a copy from each of the credit reporting agencies or from a central website that provides all three reports. Be sure to access the official, secure website of the company you choose and follow directions to receive the free report.

On Friday, February 26, 2010, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary in the 4400 block of S. Lafayette St. The property owner reported that construction tools and equipment were stolen overnight from a locked trailer. Estimated loss is $10000.
