A Message From Chief John Patterson

Welcome to the Cherry Hills Village Police Department’s Home Page. I hope you find this information easy to use and helpful. While internet technology will never replace the value of human interaction, this website is another tool we have to help us communicate with you.

In this website, you will find information on the police department, crime prevention tips to keep you and your family safe, important telephone numbers, service request information, and valuable links to other law enforcement sites.

We recognize that traditional methods of response to calls for police service, investigation of crimes, and making arrests will not, by themselves, reverse crime and its adverse effects on our community. Our residents enjoy a very low crime rate and an outstanding quality of life. To maintain this quality of life, the Cherry Hills Village Police Department uses a comprehensive approach to delivering services. We combine our resources to effectively and quickly respond to emergency calls for service with resources dedicated to problem identification and resolution. We strive to stay abreast of emerging crime trends through the creation of police/community partnerships.

Our goals for this partnership are to educate residents and, in turn, the police department about how to be on the look out for criminal activity, to forecast where criminal problems may occur before they happen, and to enhance public safety throughout the Village. Over the course of the past four years, our combined efforts have resulted in a 33% reduction in reported crime; a 23% reduction in traffic accidents; and a 51% reduction in alarm calls.

I am proud to be your police chief and to serve a community that works together to improve its quality of life. You have a very good police department – its members come from a variety of backgrounds and are committed to providing you with personalized professional police services.

Chief of Police
