Permit Submittal Process

Permit Submittals that do NOT Require Plan Review
Permit submittals that do not require plan review are processed within 1-3 business days or as volume permits. When a permit is ready to be issued, the building department will email you stating your permit is ready and the outstanding fees that are due. After fees are paid, all permit documents will be issued over email.

HVAC / AC / Mechanical Permits - Please note that any AC condenser/compressor replacement REQUIRES both the general and an electrical permit applications.  Also, please note if the appliance you are installing is a like-for-like replacement.

Permit Submittals that Require Plan Review
Permit applications that require plan review will be issued once all reviews have been completed and approved. Depending on the type of permit application, zoning, building, and/or civil engineering reviews may apply. Each reviewer has 10 business days to either provide comments to the applicant to be addressed or approve. If comments are needing to be addressed, then the 10 business day clock starts over when the required resubmittal is received.

Please note that the zoning review (if applicable) occurs before a submittal is sent to building and engineering for review. Once zoning has been approved, the submittal will then be sent to building and/or civil engineering for review. After building and/or civil engineering has been approved, the building department will finalize processing for your permit and notify you of any outstanding items to be addressed and fees that are due. Once fees are paid, all permit documents will be issued over email.

Applications that do not require plan review can be submitted by email to buildingdepartment@cherryhillsvillage.com. If plan review is required please submit using our "Submit for Plan Review Online" found on this page.

Permit Revision Process

If needing to make a change or revision to a permit that has already been issued, please complete the "Permit Revision Request Form". Once completed, the revision request form and any associated plans and documents should be submitted by email to buildingdepartment@cherryhillsvillage.com. The revision request will then undergo any required plan review (zoning, building, or civil engineering). Each reviewer has 10 business days to either provide comments to the applicant to be addressed or approve. If comments are needing to be addressed, then the 10 business day clock starts over when the required resubmittal is received.

Please note that the zoning review (if applicable) occurs before a submittal is sent to building and civil engineering for review. Once zoning has approved, the submittal will then be sent to building and/or civil engineering for review. After all review has been completed and the revision has been approved, an email notification will be sent stating the revision is ready and any final fees due. Once fees are paid, the approved revision documents will be sent by email.

Contractor Licensing

ONLY electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, and elevator contractors need to be licensed with the City of Cherry Hills Village. We do not require licensing for general contractors. If not previously licensed with Cherry Hills Village, please submit licensing requirement materials when submitting the appropriate permit application. Please see below for licensing requirements:

Electrical Contractor Licensing Requirements

  • State Contractors License
  • State Master's License
  • Driver's License of the Master Electrician

Plumbing Contractor Licensing Requirements

  • Have state licenses on site for verification

Elevator Contractor Licensing Requirements

  • State Conveyance Contractor Certificate
